  Blue Serenade is a father (Peter) and son (Alex) restaurant in Castlebar.

We were fortunate to have Alex as our server for the evening. Firstly, he was exceptional warm... read more towards us. He was good natured and forthcoming wirh menu tips. Throughout the evening he fielded questions through detailed answers and anecdotes.

It was fantastic to hear from him how much of their excellent produce was sourced locally. Meat, fish veg all sourced from the greater Mayo area.

The food was of an excellent standard. Between myself and my girlfriend we had 6 courses. All was of note - the sauce of the scallops was delicious (and came from Alex's recommendation). The duck spring rolls were spicy yet bursting with flavour. Both mains, lamb shank and fillet steak were a testimony to the quality of the produce and cook (Nagi).

The lamb fell off the bone and the fillet was so tender and succulent.

In terms of value I thought it was very reasonable 6 courses, 3 alcoholic bottles and 2 minerals for less than a €100 (97 to be accurate.

Fantastic food and well priced but the night was made by the excellent service. Alex is a credit to the trade and his professionalism and personality are we'll married for success.

We were fortunate to meet Peter, Alex father. We were the last to leave the restaurant yet Peter was in hurry for us to go.

Instead he spent over 15 minutes talking to us about Mayo and the kindness of the people since he moved there. Both he and Alex couldn't be more complimentary of the local community and was quick to thank them for their support due to Covid lockdown. Both were so grateful that so many bought vouchers of a business celebrating 1 year open over the weekend. The pair show the importance of supporting local.

Their excellent service is some of the best I've ever received with great valued food too. Continued success to Peter, Alex and Blue Serenade!!
