I had the salmon for my main course. My husband chose the hake. He's not really a fish fan but he said it was absolutely delicious. We also shared a dessert which was yummy. We just had a couple of beers to drink. My only complaint is that the beer wasn't really cold enough but that's a minor issue. The service was up to the usual excellent standard that we had on our 1st visit some time ago. Lovely, lovely place, small with a feeling of intimacy. Well worth a visit. Thank you to all.

I was treated like star, had brilliant conversations with any and all servers that approached.
Taken care of, no matter what it was. The food was delicious. (Recommend any fish dish!). The size of the meals are more for sharing but that's not a complaint. Wine selection was brilliant and up-to-date.
The room is decorated with a simple and homely feel. From the furniture to plate. And I would like to thank Peter, Alex and the chef, For their time, making dinner an event.

  We decided to visit Blue Serenade based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. As the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesdays, we sent an email ( this being Monday... read more evening we weren't expecting an answer until Wednesday, however our email was answered a short while later and the booking confirmed.)

We got a warm welcome from Peter on arrival, and he went through the specials of the day in mouthwatering detail. We were given plenty of time to decide on our food choices, for starters I had the spicy fish cakes which were delicious, my partner opted for the Mussels, the portion was very generous and cooked perfectly. For the main course I chose the fillet steak, again this was cooked to perfection and was beautifully presented. My partner went for the special of the day, (I cant remember the correct name for it) it was a seafood dish served on a sizzling serving plate, and contained scallops and prawns among other items. He enjoyed it very much. I had the Raspberry and White Chocolate cheesecake for dessert and it was totally divine.
Throughout the meal we we well attended by Peter and Alex our waiter both of whom are very pleasant and friendly. In fact the whole atmosphere was warm and friendly. I would highly recommend you to visit this wonderful restaurant.
We loved our visit to the Blue Serenade and will definetly go back on our next trip to Castlebar.

Not only did Peter make us feel at home, but every member of the Blue Serenade team made our restaurant experience very memorable. The service was second to none!

The quality of the food was amazing - we chose the homemade soup and 5 chicken spice for a starter which we finished within minutes!! Followed by our mains of Chicken Fajitas and Duck Leg with Plum Sauce and mashed potatoes/vegetables. The decor was wonderful and very cosy with some music in the background that fitted the overall vibe. Thank you to Peter and his team for making our final night in Castlebar an amazing one. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for visitors or people close to Castlebar!
